• What is the length of my light kit? The length from the first socket to the last socket is computed by: [(# of sockets – 1) * socket spacing] Overall length of the light kit is computed: [(# of sockets – 1) * socket spacing] + lead spacing + end spacing This does not include socket drops. • What is lead spacing? - spacing from the male plug to the first socket (excluding the socket drop). If an electrical outlet is far away, a long lead spacing eliminates the use of an extension cord. • What is end spacing? - spacing from the last socket (excluding the socket drop) to the female plug. • What is socket drop? - extra wire provided between each socket, so that you can fold the wire and drop the socket into the middle of the lantern. • What is in-line on/off switch? – a line switch that enables you to turn the lights on and off. It is attached in-between the male plug & the first plug. • How do I get more illumination from the light kits? If you want to use the light kit as your main source of light, we recommend our Energy Saving Bulbs. Each of our sockets can accommodate a maximum 7 watt bulb. To get more light without exceeding the maximum allowance of wattage per socket, use Candelabra Base Ecobulbs . An Energy Saving Bulbs that uses 3 watts gives off about the same light output as a regular light bulb that uses 15-20 watts. Click Here to view how the cords are folded & dropped into the lantern. 3 inch socket drop – recommend for 10" diameter lanterns. 4 inch socket drop – recommend for 12" diameter lanterns. 5 inch socket drop – recommend for 14" diameter lanterns. 6 inch socket drop – recommend for 16" diameter lanterns. 7 inch socket drop – recommend for 18" diameter lanterns. 8 inch socket drop – recommend for 20" diameter lanterns. 9 inch socket drop – recommend for 22" diameter lanterns. 10 inch socket drop – recommend for 24" diameter lanterns. **No refund or exchanges are accepted for custom light kits. |
