At the top, a wonderful fire dragon swirls around characters that spell out protection and safety. As a result, in China, these bells are referred to as Safe bells. They are used to protect against all harm. Inside their taxis, to keep themselves safe while on their shifts, drivers in Beijing often hang bells on their rear view mirrors.

Images around the bell are: Kwan Yin – the Goddess of Love, Buddha – the Giver of Life, and Tara – the bringer of Compassion.
