The Qilin or Kylin, also known as Kirin in Japan and Korea, is a mythical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures. There are different variations but it is said to have a head like a dragon, with antlers like a deer, scales like a fish, hooves like an ox and a tail like a lion. It is a good omen that brings luck, prosperity and blessings to the pure and punishment to the wicked. Some stories state the Qilin as a sacred pet of the gods and one of the most powerful mytholgical animals aside from the dragon and the phoenix. The Qilin Dance is one of the hardest dances with fast, powerful strokes of the head and movements with the emphasis on outbursts of power. • hard paper stock head with a bamboo construction; • qilin head measures approx. 25" l x 20" w x 28" h • 80" long nylon cape • includes 2 pairs of matching pants (one size fits most) Imported from China.
